Abstract School Day

September will always be “back to school” season for me. I love the idea of that fresh new start, and, of course, the freshly sharpened yellow pencils, new notebooks, and whiff of possibility. This painting was inspired by my son’s first day back to school after the “thousand year flood” in South Carolina.
